The Sentry Mesh 6161 from DTC, a Codan Company, is a high-performance, software-defined tactical radio unit, specifically designed for demanding operations. It combines robust MANET mesh waveforms with state-of-the-art hardware to ensure both low-latency and highly reliable voice and data communication – even in highly disturbed environments.

Despite its performance, the device remains remarkably compact and lightweight (approx. 410 g), allowing it to be comfortably carried and easily integrated into tactical equipment. The user-friendly operating concept, featuring a rotary control, side function buttons, and a clearly legible LED indicator, enables intuitive control even under stress or in critical situations.

Thanks to the “MeshUltra™” technology with token-passing, available bandwidth is optimally utilized, collisions are avoided, and predictable packet latency is ensured. The integrated GPS function provides position data essential for Blue-Force Tracking. Furthermore, voice and data channels can be used simultaneously: multiple talk groups (up to 32) are possible in parallel over the same network.

The Sentry Mesh 6161 supports high-speed IP data rates (up to 87 Mbit/s), making it ideal for sensor data, video streaming, or other data-intensive applications. For particularly secure communication, optional encryption modes (AES-256 or DES-56) are available. Furthermore, the device complies with military standards (MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G) and is protected against environmental influences according to IP68 – meaning it is robust enough for harsh field deployment.
